Link Bank Account FAQ

Why does Slope need bank accounts connected?

Bank account connection gives Slope a better understanding of your business financial health, which helps us determine your eligibility, financing limit, and pricing.

Since such an understanding is core to our credit decision, having no bank account connection could materially impact your chance for approval.

Is it safe to connect my bank accounts?

We request connections via Plaid, an industry leader for financial data sharing that follows stringent safety, security, and data handling standards. Plaid connects to more than 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK, and Europe and is used by 1 in 3 US adults.

Your login credentials are never accessible to us.

What bank accounts should I connect?

For best underwriting results, please connect all business bank accounts with meaningful transactions, including internal transfers (e.g., savings accounts).

What happens if I can’t connect my bank account?

Try these troubleshooting tips first:

  • Double check the search term you used on Plaid matches your bank's official name; remove unnecessary "the", empty space, etc.

  • If possible, use the primary bank account owner's credentials to authorize the connection

    • Otherwise, make sure the sub-account owner / additional user who attempts the Plaid connection has the permission to authorize data sharing (check your bank's account permission settings)

  • Check out Plaid's connection troubleshooting page

  • Get help with a specific Plaid error message

Still can't connect? Please reach out to us at support@slopepay.com, so that we can further debug your issue. Please include which banking institution that you attempted to connect to and a screenshot of the Plaid error message if possible.
